From Brunette to Blonde
So, I want to dye my hair Blonde...
.
I used a silly Revlon box kit..
it Obviously didn't turn out well.
It had a very Brassy color at the roots, and about 1.5" after it looked just a tad bit lighter than my natural color. I then did some research and asked for advice from a few friends who Dye their own hair quite often. I went to Sally's beauty salon and bought Bleach, Toner, Developer, and Purple Shampoo.
Washed hair, now setting to dry as I prepare to bleach it.
Okay, it is time....
okay, bleach and developer, 1.1 ratio..
now we wait, checking every 5 to 10 mins...
Gonna go Shampoo and Condition.
I combed it, I can see the unevenness now,
maybe it'll blend better as it dries.
Drying out, its very rough I've noticed, dry and breakable it feels. I think that is to be expected though.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~Next day~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Waited over night to give my hair a rest.
The next step is toner. I have two kinds, Wella brand, T11 and T18. I used it with the Ion Sensitive Scalp Developer, 20V. I plan on using 2x T18 and 1x T11, with a 2:1 Ratio of Developer to Toner. It says to apply to damp, towel dry hair. Here we go...
Air-dried, and i have some CHI in it and it was in a little hair bun, so it got all curlyish. As far as makeup goes, eyeliner and mascara (bare minimum). Color.. um.. not what I am going for, However, since I've done so much treatment to it already I am going to wait about 10 to 14 days to retreat with the Wella Toners. I might even only use the light ash instead of the sandy beige one. I have the purple shampoo and conditioner so I plan on using it not tomorrow bu the next day.
On a side note with the make-up, I will have to figure out what new color to use on my eyebrows. I am actually quite new to make-up in general so it'll be interesting.
Thanks!
P.S. This is my natural hair color, and it was a little longer also, this picture is about 6 months old.
UPDATE: I used Generic Brand Purple shampoo and conditioner. It is getting a little more natural looking and less orangey.
UPDATE 1.5.18, 2 weeks later. I have been using the Purple shampoo and condition, every other day, not shampooing every day. in the next few days I will re tone and possibly bleach it.
Next Step:
Coconut mask for 1.5 hours, then bleached for about 15 mins. Rinse, purple shampoo and conditioner and a cold shot.
I think i'm having problems with the amount of bleach i'm using, not enough, and i'm so scared to over bleach my hair i rinse it off too soon. I also am applying it a way i saw someone else do it, but i'm not doing a thorough enough job with it. Toner tomorrow after a 24 hour rest.
